The Avondhu Press Newspaper was established in 1978 and covers the areas of North East Cork, West Waterford, South Limerick and South Tipperary. PARISH PRIEST WANTS SALE STOPPED

The parish priest of Mitchelstown, Fr Michael Fitzgerald and a local school liaison officer have this week called for a halt to be put to the proposed sale of Forrest Hall in the town.

CREDIT UNION DENIES REDUNDANCY SPECULATION

Management at Fermoy Credit Union have insisted that there have been no redundancies amongst its permanent staff following speculation surrounding the institution. Manager, Martina Cotter, confirmed that the credit union had revised its staffing levels.

FERMOY SHOPPING CENTRE HELD UP BY PLANNING DELAY

Planning officials have yet to decide if they will give the go ahead for a multi million euro retail development in Fermoy. The Shipton Group had expected to hear a decision on their proposed development on the former Cork Mart’s site in the town from An Bord Pleanala in the last week, only for the judgement to be delayed.
