The Avondhu Press Newspaper was established in 1978 and covers the areas of North East Cork, West Waterford, South Limerick and South Tipperary. This successful weekly - published Thursday - boasts a readership in excess of 39,000. The first edition was a modest 4 page edition which has since grown to an average of 80 pages.

WINNERS CELEBRATE TIDY TOWNS SUCCESS

As the West Tipperary village of Emly this week celebrates outright victory in the National Tidy Towns competition, Coolagown in East Cork is also cock-a-hoop having retained their gold medal and also been nominated as one of the finalists in the overall tidiest village category.

DIRTY TRICKS ALLEGED AS TREATY POSTERS TAKEN DOWN

A roundabout in Mitchelstown may, it appears, have become the focus of a dirty tricks campaign by the Pro-Lisbon parties according to Coir. The anti-Lisbon group has asked the gardai to investigate the alleged removal of ‘Vote No!’ posters from many points around the country.
