JEFF & VIDA BACK IN KILWORTH

Jeff (Burke) and Vida (Wakeman) have made their way up the ladder of the Nashville music scenes with their rootsy, acoustic sound.

This duo has the tendency to get the crowd’s feet stompin’ with music that reflects their passion for everything ranging from country to bluegrass.

Jeff and Vida entertain audiences with their skill string picks and beautiful harmonies and have attracted attention at various venues including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the legendary Ryman Auditorium (home of the Grand Ol’ Opry).

Jeff and Vida are spending their year touring heavily and will drop in to Kilworth’s Village Arts Centre on Monday night, August 31 (please note date - not Tuesday as mentioned elsewhere).

Tickets from John (087-7921771) or any Arts Centre outlet (025-32227).

‘DIRTY DUSTING’ RETURNS TO THE OPERA HOUSE

‘Dirty Dusting’, the record-breaking show returns to Cork Opera House with the original cast that includes Irish entertainment legend Adele King (‘Twink’) as one of a trio of little old ladies who are facing the axe from their cleaning jobs.

They might be past their best, beyond their sell-by date and over the hill but they certainly won’t take threats of redundancy lying down. These game ‘girls’ set up a phone sex service, known as “The Telephone Belles”, and that’s when the fun really begins.

Their bosses don’t know about it, their families would never guess and their very willing customers are none the wiser! They’re the only chat-line girls with dusters, attitude and their very own bus passes!

Don’t miss the original old-timers who become good-time girls in this year’s must-see comedy – ‘Dirty Dusting’. “The audience was squealing with delight at every turn.” Metro (Ireland).

The Avondhu, in association with Cork Opera House, are giving away free tickets to the show (see Entertainment Pages). ‘Dirty Dusting’ runs from August 31 to September 5 at 8pm nightly with a matinee on Saturday 5th at 3pm.

Tickets from ˆ21, book online at www.corkoperahouse.ie or on 021-4270022.
