MYSTERY SURROUNDS ARAGLIN GARDA DIG

Locals in Araglin are puzzled this week following a major garda search in the area on Monday which appears to have turned up nothing more than a dead fox.

Bemused locals in the area were at a loss this week to discover the background to the dig, which took place on Monday morning in Araglin close to the Tipperary border under the direction of gardai from Cahir.

TIP-OFF RECEIVED

It is understood that up to four gardai and a JCB were involved in the dig, which apparently followed a detailed tip-off from a member of the public. The extensive dig, which saw gardai remove almost six ft of soil, however revealed nothing more than a dead fox wrapped in .... .
